One thing I love about being back in Singapore is how mommy pampers me with food to eat. My mom loves to cook and so when I come home, it’s all about the eating all this delicious meals and dessert that she prepares especially for me. Check out the dish below. The first image is all the ingredients that is needed to get that oh to die for Pengat Pisang.. and oh those green beady things in the bowl are are not beads jewelry.. lol.. it’s “sagu”… not sure what that is in English.. sorry.. lol!

After going without food and water for an altogether 36hrs due to surgery, I was finally able to get some food into my tummy after haggling and convincing my doctor that I will take it easy with the kind of food I have after my surgery. Basically he was looking for signs of tummy and bowel movement before allowing me solid food for fear I would vomit out everything. He kept asking me if I had burped or pass gas but even after telling him that I had, he was still unconvinced as he told me that his stethoscope was telling him something else. Perhaps he needed some sort of cell signal boosters so that he can hear clearly for sure. I wouldn’t make so much noise as I was not that hungry but my gastric pain was killing me. Each movement was torture and the pain was even more than the surgery pain itself which was ridiculous for sure. I actually cried when I had to move to pee as the shooting pain in my chest or heartburn was simply too unbearable. He finally relented after knowing that the antacid and the gastric drip didn’t help and allowed me fluids which basically means just Milo. Argghhh right?
Anyway, after another two hours, I insisted I want to speak to the doctor again and this time I told him I managed to hold down the three glasses of Milo and that I wanted to EAT no matter what he said. I told him that I do not have gastric but that I might get one if I don’t get food in my tummy in the next two hours. He was reluctant but eventually gave in. So this was my first meal of the day…
First meal after 36hrs without food and water
It was bland but it was food and I was happy.
The next morning I was again shocked when I was only served clear soup for breakfast. I was darned hungry and I made noise of course. I asked the nurse what happened and apparently the kitchen got the wrong order. Luckily mommy came to the rescue with a light breakfast.
From then on.. I was served solid food and here they are…
Lunch on 2nd day stay
Dinner for 2nd nite
Last breakfast
